Goals, activities and progress now live in a single therapy plan for each patient, with reviews you can look back on and a progress report you can print for the referring doctor. Synopsis also has a lighter, calmer look in colours that match our logo.

One therapy plan, and a calmer new look

Until now, a patient could have two plans in Synopsis: the activities you assign in Therapy plan, and the goals you kept under Clinical. Today they become one. We've also given Synopsis a lighter, calmer look, so the screens you spend your day in are easier on the eyes.

One plan for each patient

Open a patient and choose Therapy plan. Everything about their treatment is now in one place:

  • Goals are what you and the patient are working towards, written in your own words.
  • Activities are how you get there. You can link each activity to a goal, or keep it unassigned.
  • Progress appears next to each goal. It's worked out from the ratings you give activities in your sessions, from an outcome measure such as PHQ-9 moving towards a target you set, or from a percentage you enter yourself.

If you're a psychologist and don't use activities, that's fine: a plan can be just goals.

Your existing activities and goals are already there. Activities you had assigned before now appear under Unassigned activities, ready to be linked to a goal whenever it suits you.

Review the plan, and see how it has changed

Set a review date and Synopsis reminds you on Home when it comes around. When you review the plan, you can add a short note, and Synopsis keeps a copy of the plan as it was at that moment. Open History to see every earlier version, so you can look back at what the goals were three months ago and how far things have come.

A progress report for the referring doctor

Choose Progress report to open a clean, printable page for the referring doctor or the family. It shows the patient's goals and progress, their latest outcome measures and how many sessions they've attended. It never includes your session notes. Add a closing paragraph if you'd like, then print it or save it as a PDF.

When you care for a patient together

If you've shared a patient with a colleague, they can see your plan but not change it, and they can keep a plan of their own. A colleague you've only shared sessions with doesn't see the plan or your activity ratings.

A lighter, calmer look

Synopsis now has near-white pages, clearer text and colours drawn from our logo: a deep navy for buttons and highlights, and soft blues for labels and status. Headings are easier to read, and pages are laid out with more breathing room. Everything works as before, and it's all still available in English, Greek and German.

Try the new therapy plan with your next patient, and tell us what you think. We'd like to hear what helps and what still gets in your way.
